“I am so grateful for the service Helen provided, she made it so easy for me, not only giving me a floor plan to follow, but also a detailed sheet with prices and links to everything I needed to purchase. This made it an enjoyable process buying all the lovely pieces she had suggested and I was excited to see everything coming together. Everything is so personalised and even purchased an antique chest for me, which was a really great piece, and just what I had in mind (and arranged for a courier). I also bought one of the lovely pieces from her Lived & Loved renovation side of the business – a cute side unit that was sourced especially for my snug and restored to it’s full beauty, with tones that complimented the rest of the room. I totally love the little locked drawer – it’s all in those little details :)”Case Study – Hey House
The beautiful Hey House was on the market and just not getting the viewings it needed to sell, and then we entered Lockdown…
The online photographs were its only way to sell the house and style of the home, but the current look and style of the house was dated certainly not selling the much sought -after country location of the beautiful village of Lapworth. It needed a revamp, a flow and a modern feel throughout. Allowing the grace and grandeur to shine through the designs and getting the photos to do all the work.
So, Design and Styling hat on I set to work with a proposal of what was needed, a complete declutter, a repaint to a fresher off white, reorganise the furniture and to re accessorise throughout, giving it a true modern country feel it warranted. Whilst emphasising the Georgian features, with its large ceilings, arch windows and doors and grand hallway entrance.
The project was one of the bespoke packages for the client, they had on site visits, design packs and mood boards, clickable shopping lists that they bought from, and then a final styling of each room. Over a six week period, we reworked the whole downstairs from the kitchen to the Drawing room, Hallway, Living room and Orangery. It really was a transformation. The viewings improved no end and within 3 months it was sold.
The Imagery is a snippet of the house, the before and after of the hallway and living room.
Case Study – no.2
The client wanted some design help with a small front room, after having a very large kitchen/diner with living area extension at the back of the house This little room had become redundant and a dumping ground for what was not required, and it was in desperate need of some Love.
The client wanted a cosy, cute adult snug, for chatting over a glass or two of wine, or quiet time away from the family to chill or to watch tv. She wanted the décor to flow from the new kitchen so we followed the colour palette from there into this room. Consisting of Navy, blush pink, warm woods and creams.
The design pack chosen was the premium pack, as most things needed to be sourced, from sofa’s, furniture, lighting and her request for one or two vintage pieces amongst. She felt confident with buying her own accessories as and when, from the guide provided in the pack.
So, from her clickable shopping list, everything was ordered and I began sourcing the pieces. A sweet little side unit was found with 3 handy drawers that was sanded and white waxed over and also a rustic black storage trunk that she used to stack an old family suitcase, that has pride of place in the bay window. Swatches were provided for the sofa and chair so to check quality and colour in the room and with the kitchen palette. It really has come together beautifully, and has a lovely boho, modern vintage cosy vibe and the flow from the front to back of the house is now seamless. Have a look at the pictures, let me know what you think? Pretty cosy huh? and It’s not JUST monochrome here!
